Franco Sarto flats [$39.99]

I was in search of the perfect transitional flats and stumbled upon these beauties on my most recent trip to Marshalls. Not only are they price savvy but also super comfortable and versatile.

Franco Sarto flats [$39.99]

Not too bad of a price for real leather. Also the perfect alternative to the Tory Burch Mackenna Strip Wedge I’ve been digging at [$325]:

I styled mine with appropriate Seahawks attire to show my support #12thman, GAP floral skinnies, Target flannel button-up, and some geometric, bold rings for a feminine sporty look with a bit of edge.

LOVE that you can dress these up or down. Wear them with a pair of skinnies, cropped pants, harem pants, shift dress, pencil skirt – these are definitely THE little black dress of shoes. I’m obsessed! I might just have to pick up the red suede ones too in time for Valentine’s Day. These come pretty close to the magic slipper in my book.

minimalist jewelry

I have never been one for jewelry. Correction – I choose to spend my money on clothes over accessories. I love jewelry – yes, what girl doesn’t, but buying it is another story. Even though accessories really make the outfit, I can’t help but buy shirts/blouses/jeans over the fun stuff – necklaces, rings, bangles, etc.

When I do wear jewelry I tend to default to my go-to pieces:

  • mom’s jade necklace & bangle
  • auntie’s antique gold flaked necklace
  • Tiffany pearl earrings from the hubbs
  • Express metallic bangles
  • DIY Chan Luu inspired wrap bracelets
  • assortment of chunky mixed metal rings
  • Skagen gold men’s watch

Metallics, gold, vintage. Call me boring, I know, I need to branch out but I always end up choosing my minimalist jewelry. I think it provides the perfect accent to all outfits because of the versatility. And I love mixed metals; you really can’t go wrong.

Lately I’ve been eyeing all the minimalist jewelry Trending on Pinterest. Check out these beauts –

If you’re digging the trend and share the same affinity for minimalist jewelry pieces – checkout the curated handmade jewelry at Moorea Seal. Not only are they local (support Seattle!) – but they’re a bunch of do-gooders too – 7% of all proceeds from their store benefit five non-profit categories. How cool is that? You can shop and do good all at the same time.

Target preppy button-ups [$6.88]

On the way to girls night I promised myself to make a beeline straight for the wine aisle at Target. I headed into the store with good intentions, but was immediately greeted with none other than big red clearance signs, what’s a girl to do? An innocent perusing trip commenced.

Thankfully my impromptu shopping trip hardly put a dent in my pocketbook Two button-ups at just [$6.88] each – one flannel with a sequins collar and one blue cotton polka dot. And to think I was going to buy it at full price for $22.99 a piece – good things come to those who wait 🙂

I couldn’t help but buy the wintery flannel button-up too, after all it is (sigh) still winter even with the stint of Seattle sun.

I styled my flannel with my metallic ballet flats and favorite Anthropologie mustard skinnies that I found for just [$39.95] which you can read about here. Toss on a navy blazer or jean jacket and I’m all set to go!Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetI escaped spending just under $30 (including wine for girls night), which in Target terms I define as a smashing success. I’m sure all you fellow Target lovers can relate.

On a sidenote – have you seen the fabulous Instagram @targetdoesitagain and @targetgoesclearance? My girlfriend introduced me and I am hooked. If you are as in love with Target as I am they are worth following!

I learned how to dress up before I could read. I used to wake up early with a bottle of nail polish in hand, and wait by my auntie’s bed until she awoke so she could paint my nails. Fast forward to present day and my passion for fashion continues!

I firmly believe you don’t need to spend a lot to have great style. The style files captures my bargain finds, shopping adventures, styled looks, vignettes and the likes. (side note: I don’t rarely pay full price for anything. Call me cheap, call me Asian – I just live for a good bargain!)

My first installment of the style files includes my newest bargain find from Anthropologie – mustard skinnies at just [$39.95] originally $128.00. Love the color and velour detailing down the side. The beautiful, rich mustard can be read as either a neutral or color depending on how you style them.

And best of all, the looks below are all under $100!

I’m totally digging look 3. Partly because I’m rocking my gram’s fabulous fur collar straight out of the 40s, and partly because I’m channeling Macklemore. Macklemore be like heyyy girl hey.
